We met LOANA TRAVEL more than four years ago reading travel blogs on the internet, we couldn’t make our first trip because COVID arrived but when they gave us the green light, we didn’t even think about it. Our trip to Benin and Togo was a unique experience of total immersion in reality. We had a very personalised trip with a guide from the country who knew the place perfectly. We were able to learn about voodoo animism and their culture, participating in their celebrations as they live it. We shared with the people their day to day life with a lot of closeness. I have just returned from Ghana, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso, I have been delighted, especially with Burkina Faso, the people are very nice and the villages are beautiful. I have been very lucky with the guide, who has been looking after me all the time and solving any problems I may have had. Also the drivers were very professional. I also liked very much the route they prepared for me and the attention of Xavi and Euloge during my whole trip. Now I have no doubt that I will do Benin, Togo and Ghana with them very soon.

In the long weekend of December 2018 I took a group trip to Benin for a week and it is 100% recommendable. Already in the lead up to the trip, Xavi was very attentive in helping us with flight bookings as well as various recommendations. Once in Benin, Euloge is extraordinary, providing us with a lot of information about the places, the customs, how they live the voodoo, the typical gastronomy. Also, as we were a small group of people, when we visited the tribes and attended a voodoo ceremony, it didn’t feel like we were invading and the people were very receptive. I for one will contact Loana when I visit the area again, as the treatment and experience was extraordinary.

We went to Benin with Loana Travel and it was great. Their expert guides (they speak Spanish and we discovered fabulous landscapes, ancestral traditions, interesting people and its unknown gastronomy but, above all, they made us discover a country (super safe, by the way) with a lot to offer to the world. If you are thinking of escaping the cold over the next few long weekends, I wouldn’t think twice. I’m sure I’ll be back.

Our trip to Benin and Togo was absolutely spectacular. From the first day, everything exceeded our expectations: the landscapes, the culture, the warmth of the people… simply magical. I travelled with Loana Travel to Benin in January 2025, doing the ‘Voodoo Route’. It was a group trip, I went with my wife and there were five other travellers. The trip to Benin for the voodoo festival was perfectly organised. The hotels were very good. The treatment of our guide and driver was exquisite, always ready to accommodate our requests. We even had several ceremonies to ourselves. The most special ones, the Zagbetos and the protection ceremony in Bopa, without forgetting the visits to the Holi, the Fon Angolin and the Fulani.

We travelled to Benin and Togo and it was an impressive trip. In the spring of 2024 we decided to take a trip to the African countries that seemed most authentic to us. Above all to get to know the cultures of the people there.

We consulted various publications available on the web (blogs, websites) and decided to go to Benin and Togo in November, arranging the trip with Loana Travel.

We decided on a 16-day trip.

They designed a travel plan according to our wishes: Visits to the most significant cities, towns and villages of each culture. With a Spanish-speaking guide from the country.

The guide Damien and the driver Gyslain picked us up at the airport and took us to see many ethnic groups, villages and nomadic settlements. They accompanied us at all times.

Without them it would have been impossible to get to know all these cultures.
