Day 1: Flight and Arrival in Yaoundé
We begin our journey with a connecting flight to Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. Upon arrival, we will take a transfer to the hotel, where we can rest and prepare for the adventure that awaits us the next day.
Day 2: Yaoundé
We will start the day by discovering Yaoundé and Cameroonian culture. We will visit local markets, museums, and several iconic spots in the city, where we will get a close look at daily life and the country’s traditions.
Day 3: Somalomo
We will continue our journey towards Somalomo, passing through the Mefou Park. This small village is the gateway to the Dja Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Dja Reserve, home to 107 species of mammals, is one of the largest and best-preserved rainforests in Africa, with 90% of its surface still untouched by human activity.
We will end the day at Mama Rose’s Lodge, where we will spend time with the local inhabitants, who will offer us a truly authentic Cameroonian experience.
Day 4: Somalomo – Baka Pygmies
We will immerse ourselves in one of the most enigmatic, mythical and fascinating tribes of Africa: the Baka pygmies. We will experience their daily life, learning about their lifestyle based on gathering, hunting and ancestral recipes.
We will also witness the Edjengui dance — a ritual performance that honours their ancestors and is used in ceremonies to cure illnesses.
Day 5: Somalomo – Ebogo
After saying goodbye to the Baka, we will depart early for Ebogo. We will arrive in the afternoon and stay on the banks of the Nyong River — a perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace of the surroundings.
Day 6: Ebogo
We will dedicate the whole day to exploring Ebogo. In the morning, we will go on a canoe excursion, where we can spot animals and enjoy the sounds of the jungle, surrounded by pure nature.
Days 7 and 8: Kribi
After several days of exploration and adventure, we head to Kribi to relax on its beautiful beaches. There, we will also visit the impressive Lobé waterfalls — a site of great spiritual significance, surrounded by stunning natural scenery.
Day 9: Édéa II
We enter the region of the Bagdeli — an ethnic group that preserves its ancestral customs. We will have the opportunity to discover their everyday life, focused on hunting and gathering, and learn how they keep their traditions alive.
Day 10: Douala and Return
On our final day, we will explore Douala, the second largest city in Cameroon.
In the afternoon, we will head to the airport to catch our return flight, marking the end of this unforgettable experience.
