Burkina Faso, known as “the country of whole men”, is a destination that truly reflects its name through the warmth and hospitality of its people. Beyond its inhabitants, the country offers a unique blend of captivating landscapes, a rich cultural heritage and traditions that stand the test of time.

From the Sahelian lands to the Gulf of Guinea, Burkina Faso offers an astonishing diversity of landscapes, a great musical atmosphere and unique architecture, ranging from the majestic mud mosques to the colourful houses of Kassena Country.

This trip is the perfect opportunity to delve into one of Africa’s hidden gems, a place where history, nature and culture intertwine to offer a truly unique experience.

Day 1: International flight and arrival

Our journey begins with an international flight to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. Upon arrival, we will head to the hotel to rest and prepare for the start of our adventure the following day.

Day 2: Ouagadougou – Bobo Dioulasso

We will depart for Bobo Dioulasso, a city rich in history and culture. During the six-hour journey, we will enjoy spectacular landscapes, with stops at the sacred crocodile lake of Bazoulé and the village of Boromo.

In the evening, we will arrive in Bobo Dioulasso to rest.

Day 3: Bobo Dioulasso

After breakfast, we will explore Bobo Dioulasso, a city full of history and tradition. We will stroll through its large market, visit the 19th-century mud mosque, and discover the old quarter (Dioulasoba), where ancestral customs are still preserved. We will also explore its diverse neighbourhoods, each with a distinct cultural influence — animist, Muslim, and musical.

Days 4 and 5: Banfora and the Senoufo Country

As we head southwest, we will arrive in Banfora — a town surrounded by spectacular natural landscapes. We will explore the sugarcane fields and visit the stunning Karfiguéla Waterfalls.

We will also see the rock formations of the Dômes de Fabedougou and Lake Tangrela, an ideal spot for relaxing, enjoying beautiful sunsets, and spotting hippos.

In addition, we will meet the Senoufo ethnic group, known for their distinctive round adobe buildings.

Days 6 and 7: Lobi Country

We will spend two days in Gaoua and its surroundings, where the Lobi people preserve their ancestral traditions. We will take excursions to nearby villages and visit the Doudou market to immerse ourselves in their way of life.

We will also explore the ruins of Loropeni, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about the region’s fascinating history.

Day 8: Nazinga Forest

We will spend the day immersed in nature in Nazinga Nature Reserve, enjoying safaris to observe local wildlife.

At the end of the day, we will continue our journey towards Kassena, where we will spend the night.

Day 9: Kassena Country

After breakfast, we will explore Kassena Country, famous for the unique architecture of Tiébélé. Its buildings are adorned with beautiful colours and geometric and animal motifs. We will also take the opportunity to explore the scenic landscapes of the region.

Day 10: Return to Ouagadougou

On our final day, we will go for short walks around the area before returning to Ouagadougou. If time permits, we will explore a bit more of the city.

In the evening, we will head to the airport to catch our return flight.
